My Art

Original Painting

I work in a variety of mediums & styles. I enjoy painting subtle soft tonal pen & watercolour washes equally as much as the brightly coloured block oil canvas paintings.

My subject material is largely local scenes & Cornish Harbours. I also undertake commissions of favourite views for customers.

The paintings come in a variety of sizes, framed & unframed. My online gallery has a selection of my current work available from my studio in St. Agnes.

Lino Cut Prints

lino-cut-print

Lino cut prints are a type of relief print. They are produced by cutting away the design into linoleum. The whole process can take many hours depending on how intricate the design is. Once finished the lino is inked up and passed through a printing press. Often if you visit my studio, you will see the whole process at work.

Initially my inspiration for the designs came from Celtic & Arabic art. More recently I have been cutting local harbour designs….. I have lots of ideas so watch this space!

The Lino Prints are a limited edition with only 50 prints produced per design. Each print is unique, printed in a variety of colours on an array of different handmade, silk, or Japanese printing papers.

Each Lino Print has an authentic stamp on the back signed, dated and numbered by myself.

Driftwood Art

Driftwood Art

I try to walk on one of our many beautiful beaches here in Cornwall every day, and every day I am always on the lookout for drift or as I like to call it ‘treasure’. You never know what you will return home with.

The drift often has to dry out. This can take up to a year with some types of wood. The wood is then turned into mirror frames, tables, lamps, candle holders, sculptures & the smallest of pieces a big favourite ‘dangly bits!’ These vary in size from a 1ft to 6ft. they look beautiful displayed in a conservatory or in the garden…the birds love them.

The pieces of furniture, candle holders & sculptures are coated with a variety of waxes & sometimes a lime wash.

If you require a certain size mirror frame or table, I am always happy to make to order.
